DAY 1

Arrive in Accra International Airport after going through Immigration formalities. Our tour guide will transfer you to your hotel. You will be serve with a welcome drink and orientation.

DAY 2

Depart your hotel for the City Tour of Accra and visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial grounds and learn about the independence strangle of Ghana and how it is link to the total liberation of Africa. It’s also the final burial place for Ghana’s first President and known previously as the Old Polo Ground. We drive through the old Accra, both Dutch and English Accra, stop at Jamestown Boutique for refreshment. A visit to the DuBois Center for Pan African Studies. The center is the home for the DuBois at the invited of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on the encyclopedia Africana and also the final remains of the DuBois’s. Continue to the Art Center for shopping in the open air market with various vendors from fabric to clothing to wood carving and leather work. You will only enjoy this market when you use your negotiation skills well. We end with a photo opportunity at the Black star Square.

DAY 3

After breakfast we check out from the hotel and depart for a drive through the forest and mountainous zone of Ghana to Ashante Region, Kumasi. The homeland of the Ashanti Empire, whose legacies are still evident today. We will first stop for lunch, after which we will visit Manhyia Palace Museum, to obtain firsthand information on the history of the Ashanti Empire. A regal history that dates back to 1700 is told with relics and artifacts. Enjoy a drive through the city and also vist the Kejetia Market, the biggest market in West Africa with various traders. DAY 4

After breakfast we depart for the craft villages in Ashanti for their unique cultural craftsmanship. Bonwire is the home of Ashante Kente were the hand and the feet are join to create a beautiful kente fabric. Adinkra is are symbols used as means of diplomatic communication by the royal and you will learn how isnow transform into designing into fabrics and Ntonso is the home of Adinkra. Ahwiaa, the wood carvers’ village will welcome you with interesting Ashante wooden dolls and stools and different woodcraft. You will have the opportunity to see how this craftsmen put their skills use and you going buy directly from the artisans who make them. End the day’s tour at the National Cultural Center which features the various studios of the brass makers, potters and batik

DAY 5

After breakfast we check out from the hotel and depart for the Central Region for the Slave Dungeons. Our first stop will be at Assin Manso, to visit the Slave River and Market site. At Assin Manso is where most of the slaves going through the Cape Coast and the Elmina Castles had their last bath and get themselves clean. We continue to Cape Coast lunch and after lunch we will visit the slave dungeons of the past and experience the gory event during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade that took place for over 400 years. This was first built by the Swedes as a wooden Lodge and later taken over by the British. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government. After the tour we will have a reflection time on the bus back to the hotel and check-in.

DAY 6

Depart the hotel early morning for the Central Region and drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of few West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. Which covers an area of 360sq km, Kakum is the home to over 400 bird species, 40 large mammals and as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The main attraction for our visit is the Canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 30m (100 feet) above the forest floor. It’s between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values. After lunch we will continue to the hotel for relaxation at the hotel by the pool.

DAY 7

After breakfast we check out from the hotel and depart for Accra and stop at the Kokrobite beach for lunch and drumming and dancing workshop. This evening there will be a farewell dinner with traditional drumming and dance. You will join the troop with your new acquired skills.

DAY 8

After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to meet with your African family and also participate in a naming ceremony. Today you will be given a traditional African name. Where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure or shopping. You will be transfer to the airport for your flight.
